Written by Robert Buelteman 28 April 2016

Robert Buelteman’s unique art, photographs made without cameras, lenses or computers, are part of a major international exhibition titled Emanations which opened Friday April 29th at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in the Len Lye Center (website) located in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. The exhibition, curated by renowned teacher, writer, curator and photographic historian Geoffrey Batchen (below), explores the art of cameras photography and encompasses modern and historical works from all over the world. Emanations is the most complete study ever of this form of photography, including works from the inception of the medium in the 1820’s through Buelteman's contemporary practice.
